I used to go here when I stayed close to the v. A hospital every time I went the food was always hot and fresh and delicious. It had been a very long time since I had been there and I. Decided to go again to see how it was, and honestly, it seemed like the food has gotten even better. I always order the catfish nuggets.
Instead of a little breading with your fish, there is fish with every bite. It was fresh. The fries were hot well seasoned. It was just as amazing, if not more, as it always has been, but how highly recommend this place anybody who loves catfish.

Tried J&S for the first time and was disappointed. Excited that they have fried okra because it's my favorite however the seasoning was very bland. No flavor at all! The catfish was the same.

Oh my why is this buffalo fish so bland? No salt or pepper less alone any type of seasoning. So disappointed because I haven't been here since 2019. You use to be able to order a four piece and get 1 or 2 extra pieces for free but not anymore but it also looks like they are not cutting them in half anymore (thats a good thing). Because this fish is SO bland I'm glad there was no extra given because this meal will end up in trash. I will not be back, sigh sad face.

I have been trying catfish joints in Oakcliff. I Google the best catfish around the area. So far the places I've been to do have hot and fresh fried catfish. J&S catfish is really good. Only item that most places lack and I haven't found it yet. Is their fries. And I see why that happens. Most joints have the fish on top of the fries and and all that flavor soaks up on to the fries which makes them soggy. I understand the flavor point of view of why it's done that way. But soggy fries isn't for everyone. I have not found a restaurant who's fries are crispy. When I take out and drive back home. Within 5 mins the fries are soggy. Or when I stay in the parking lot to eat it or inside the restaurant while it's hot and fresh. Fries are soggy. It's difficult to find fries that stay crispy. Catfish is 5/5 and fries is 2/5.

This fish is always hot, fresh, and delicious. I got a side of okra with it. Very delicious! They also give you an extra piece of fish!!!!
